Seven Strategies to Live Your Best Life

Taking care of your mental and physical health is the key to looking and feeling like the best version of yourself. These tried-and-true strategies are paving stones to wellness. They can help you with a much-needed reset and promise more fulfilling days.

1. Get High-Quality Sleep

Sleep isn't very different from oxygen or food. People need it to survive. Aim to get six to eight hours of restful sleep each night. Good sleep hygiene involves putting devices that emit blue light away at least half an hour before you hope to drift off.

2. Move Your Body

Human beings evolved to be active, not to spend loads of time sitting. Exercise releases endorphins that can boost your mood, so even if you're not a lover of workouts, regular brisk walks or 20-minute dance sessions can do wonders to regulate your emotions. Exercise also makes you fit and can prevent chronic diseases.

3. Nourish Your System

Fueling your body with a Proper Human Diet gives you the energy you need to thrive. Try to reduce your consumption of processed food, sugar, and alcohol. Be sure to hydrate adequately, too. Six to eight glasses of water a day does the trick for most people.

4. Find Ways to Relax

You can take up an old but beloved hobby again or learn an enjoyable new skill. Unwind by going outside and spending time in nature. Do some gardening or read a book at the beach. 6. Be Kind to People and the Planet

Finding ways to help others can hone your sense of purpose and feel very rewarding. You can lend a hand to friends or family members and strengthen essential connections. Alternatively, you can improve your community through social or environmental initiatives and random acts of kindness. 

7. Switch Gears at Work

Work probably consumes most of your days. If your job makes you feel like you're languishing, it can take a toll on your mental health. The good news is it's never been easier to change professional lanes. Online degree programs and distance-learning grad school allow you to study part-time while taking care of life's responsibilities. Look for an accredited educational institution with reasonable fees, and you can switch careers or find a more satisfying niche within your industry before you know it.
