Hypnosis for Anxiety

What is Hypnosis for Anxiety?

Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress.  It's a normal and often healthy emotion.  However, when you feel anxiety recurring every day, you may need help to reduce it and hypnosis is an excellent vehicle to reduce those feelings and get relief.

Know that you're not alone as anxiety affects 40 million Americans each year.  It’s the most common mental illness in the U.S.

Definition of Anxiety

Definitions of anxiety are all over the place but some anxiety disorders include fears, phobias, PTSD, panic attacks, OCD, social anxiety, constant worry and separation anxiety.  Some anxiety symptoms include panic, fear, IBS, migraines and insomnia.  Whenever you don’t feel right in a given situation, you may have anxiety.

Hypnosis for Anxiety

Hypnosis for anxiety can be very helpful by relaxing your mind helping you to let go of fear, worry and stress.  Many times, anxiety can be traced to a traumatic event at some point in your life.  In other instances, anxiety can build over many years as the feeling of being in control fades away.  Using hypnosis, we use the healing power of your mind to make changes in the way your subconscious mind processes events that cause anxiety.

When caused by a traumatic occurrence, the event creates an emotion that is triggered by certain actions in your current life.  Hypnosis can explore repressed memories and traumatic experiences and then deal with the negative emotions created by the event that continues to surface in the present.

Once those emotions get released, hypnosis will relax and calm the mind and install a desire for healthy thoughts and habits.  You will feel like a new person and ready to accomplish the goals you have set in your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does hypnotherapy help with anxiety?

Anxiety is largely driven by subconscious patterns: automatic fear responses, catastrophic thinking loops, and deep-seated beliefs about safety or control. Hypnotherapy gives us direct access to that subconscious layer. In a calm, focused state, we identify and reframe the root beliefs fueling your anxiety, replacing them with more grounded, realistic responses. Many clients notice a meaningful shift in how they feel after just the first session.

How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need for anxiety?

Our structured 3-session model addresses anxiety efficiently without an open-ended commitment. Each session has a clear purpose: the first establishes a foundation of calm and begins identifying core patterns; the second targets your specific anxiety triggers more directly; the third integrates the changes and equips you with tools to access that calm independently — even in the situations that used to trigger you.

Is hypnotherapy for anxiety safe? Will I have to relive traumatic experiences?

Hypnotherapy is completely safe and non-invasive. You remain in full control throughout every session and can speak, move, or end the session at any time. We do not force you to revisit painful experiences. Instead, we work in a compassionate, solution-focused way — building new responses rather than dwelling on the past. Clients consistently describe sessions as among the most relaxed they have felt in years.

How is hypnotherapy different from therapy or counseling for anxiety?

Yes. Panic attacks are one of the most acute expressions of anxiety, and hypnotherapy addresses them at their source — the subconscious fight-or-flight triggers that misfire in everyday situations. Through our sessions, clients learn to recognize and interrupt the early signals of a panic response and develop a reliable internal sense of calm that becomes more accessible over time, even in high-stress situations.

My Fear of Riding on Highways

I chose to work with Tom after reading many 5 star reviews. Here’s another one! Tom has very nice demeanor and I felt very comfortable talking with him. The intake meeting on zoom was helpful to me regarding understanding the process and answering questions about hypnosis. I needed help with my fear of riding on highways as a passenger as well as driving in general. I recently completed my third session of three and the results are already remarkable! I have been on several long car trips without being nervous prior to or during the trip. I know I will continue to make progress and am grateful to have found Tom. You have nothing to lose. Give hypnosis a try if there’s something with which you’d like help!

I Want To Give My Thanks To Tom

I want to give all my thanks to Tom; he was terrific and accommodating throughout this whole process. I was looking for someone to help me sleepwalking.

I went to sleep doctors. They did test after test to see what was causing me to sleepwalk. All they came up with was let’s sedate you, so you have no idea what you are doing.

I wouldn't say I liked that at all, so I stopped all meds, then we did sleep studies, and they came up with sleep apnea; I still may have that, but using a sleep machine to sleep did not work. I just took the mask off, sleepwalked, and put the mask back on.

So, then I tried a therapist that was a joke. She wanted me to focus on a flower that did not work. So, I did sleepwalk for about ten years, anywhere from being up walking once a night to the most was 13 times in one night.

When I would sleepwalk, I would be scared, running from things in my dreams, and very tired; I have been outside and constantly looking out the windows for the person or thing chasing me while I was sleeping.

I have to say I was fatigued and exhausted the next day for years. Finally, three different people repeatedly asked me why I didn’t try going to a hypnotist. I was ultimately against it, but I started one day looking into it and called Tom, and he was great to talk to over the phone and said that this would work.

I was scared to try it, but I scheduled the appointment on Jan 8th. That night after the session, I still had some issues with sleepwalking, but all I can say is there was a difference in the sleepwalking. I was not scared anymore, not running from things in my dreams; I was calm while doing it.

So, then I scheduled the second appointment, and Tom worked me through some of the issues I dealt with as a child, and I tell you, after that session, the walking was done no more.

Then we did the third session, and he wrapped up the session by dealing with things that made me happy until now.

I have not walked since 1/14/24. It was a fantastic journey; I felt great with no more walking, and getting a whole night's sleep was terrific.

It was great that I found Tom; I would recommend him to anyone with problems that hypnosis could help; he is knowledgeable, works with you through the whole process, explains everything to you before you start a session, and is a very kind gentleman.

My Experience was Wonderful

My experience with Tom was wonderful. He made me feel very comfortable with the whole process and took the time to understand what I wanted some help with. I am starting to see some positive changes. In certain situations I feel a little less anxious and also feel like if I am feeling anxious about something that I feel better more quickly. Happy to feel some progress.
