What is a Chaffle for Low Carbs?

By Tom Laessig

Low carbs is the goal of many healthy eaters.  A chaffle is a low carb alternative to bread.  It is made with a 6 inch waffle iron and is great for making sandwiches that are low in carbohydrates.  Most breads used in making sandwiches contain gluten which can damage your health.

Here is the recipe

Crack 2 eggs in a bowl.  Add 2 tsp of almond flour, 1 tsp of baking powder.  Mix together.

Add 1 cup of shredded cheese.  I have used mozzarella and colby jack, but any shredded cheese will work.

Heat the waffle iron.  Add mixture to iron.  Close the lid and cook for 3 minutes or to get the texture you like.  This recipe makes 4 chaffles.

I haven't eaten bread in a long time due to it's chemical imbalance.  Now, I can eat "sandwiches" using chaffles.  You can purchase a 6-inch waffle iron on Amazon for less than $20.
